Descrizione

È una famiglia di octopodi mwfwmesopelagici caratterizzata da una singola fila di mwgaventose su ogni braccio (disposizione uniseriale), un corpo gelatinoso e occhi non emisferici; in particolare gli occhi sono di forma tubulare in mwgqmwggAmphitretus, più o meno compressi lateralmente in Bolitaeninae e mwhaVitreledonellinae. Le specie di questa famiglia sono prive di mwhqtasca del nero.cite-ref-tol-3-0[3]

Distribuzione e habitat

La famiglia ha una mwjadistribuzione cosmopolita essendo presente in tutti i mari e gli oceani.cite-ref-gbif-4-0[4].
